SNAP counselling 2026 will begin after the SNAP result is announced on January 12, 2027. There is no common centralized counselling process for admission to Symbiosis MBA programmes. Each participating institute conducts its admission process separately for candidates shortlisted through the SNAP percentile.

Candidates meeting the programme-specific cutoff will be called for Group Exercise and Personal Interaction. The SNAP 2026 score is valid for admission to selected Symbiosis International (Deemed University) MBA programmes for the 2027-28 academic year.

Candidates shortlisted for more than one programme need to participate in the admission process separately for each programme. The final selection is based on the SNAP score, Group Exercise, and Personal Interaction performance.

SNAP counselling 2026 highlights

The SNAP admission process starts after the result and institute-wise shortlisting. Candidates should check the website of each institute they have applied to because counselling dates, GE-PI schedules, and merit-list dates are released separately.

Is there centralized SNAP counselling 2026?

No. SNAP counselling is different from centralized counselling processes where candidates register once, fill college preferences and receive seats through common allotment rounds.

Each Symbiosis institute conducts its own admission process. Candidates are shortlisted according to their overall SNAP percentile and the cutoff fixed separately for each programme.

A candidate may therefore receive GE-PI calls from more than one institute or MBA programme. In such cases, the candidate must complete the selection process separately for each programme.

SNAP counselling process 2026

The SNAP counselling process begins after the result and continues until the participating institutes release their merit and wait lists. Candidates do not have to participate in a common university-level seat allotment. The basic SNAP selection process is provided below.

Step 1: Check SNAP result

Candidates should download their SNAP scorecard after the result is announced on January 12, 2027. The overall percentile will be used by the institutes to shortlist eligible candidates.

Step 2: Check institute-wise shortlist

Candidates should visit the official website of each institute for which they have applied. The institute will release its shortlist according to the programme-specific SNAP cutoff.

Step 3: Download GE-PI call letter

Shortlisted candidates need to access the institute admission portal and download the selection-process call letter where applicable. The document contains the selection schedule and instructions to be followed by candidates.

Step 4: Book the GE-PI slot

Institutes may provide a separate slot-booking window. Candidates should select the available date and time within the specified period. The process can vary from one institute to another.

Step 5: Attend Group Exercise

Candidates need to participate in the Group Exercise conducted by the respective institute. Performance in GE carries 10 marks in the final merit calculation.

Step 6: Attend Personal Interaction

The Personal Interaction round assesses the candidate before the final selection. PI carries 40 marks and therefore has a significant role in the final merit score.

Step 7: Check the merit list

Participating institutes prepare their merit lists after the selection rounds have been completed. Candidates should check the institute website according to the announced merit-list date.

Step 8: Pay the admission fee

Candidates selected in the merit list need to complete the required admission fee payment before the prescribed deadline. Failure to pay the required amount within the specified period may result in the seat being offered to another candidate.

SNAP counselling registration 2026

There is no separate common SNAP counselling registration after the result. Candidates must already have registered for the MBA programmes they want to join and paid the applicable programme registration fee.

The SNAP programme registration fee is ₹1,000 per programme plus applicable government taxes. Paying only the SNAP examination fee does not make a candidate eligible for admission consideration for every Symbiosis MBA programme. After the result, shortlisted candidates need to follow the respective institute procedure for GE-PI slot booking and further admission steps.

Who is eligible for SNAP counselling 2026?

Appearing for SNAP alone does not automatically qualify a candidate for the next stage. Candidates need to satisfy the cutoff and programme-specific admission requirements. The basic requirements include:

  • The candidate must have appeared for SNAP 2026.
  • The relevant MBA programme must have been selected during programme registration.
  • The required programme registration fee must have been paid.
  • Candidate must meet the programme eligibility requirements.
  • The overall SNAP percentile must meet the institute's shortlisting cutoff.
  • Candidate must be included in the institute-wise GE-PI shortlist.
  • All compulsory selection rounds must be attended.

SNAP counselling documents 2026

Candidates shortlisted for the SNAP selection process should check the respective GE-PI call letter for the exact document requirements. There is no single common counselling document list for every SIU institute.

SIBM Pune specifically instructs candidates to preserve the authorised SNAP admit card for the further selection process. Candidates should generally keep the following records ready:

  • SNAP 2026 scorecard.
  • SNAP admit card.
  • GE-PI call letter.
  • Valid photo identity proof.
  • Class 10 marksheet and certificate.
  • Class 12 marksheet and certificate.
  • Graduation marksheets.
  • Degree or provisional degree certificate, where applicable.
  • Category certificate, if applicable.
  • PwD certificate, if applicable.
  • Work-experience documents, where required.
  • Passport-size photographs.
  • Programme registration and payment details.

SNAP Group Exercise 2026

Group Exercise is one of the two selection components conducted after SNAP shortlisting. It carries 10 marks in the final merit calculation. Candidates may be placed in groups and evaluated on how they analyse, communicate, and contribute during the exercise.

Important areas generally assessed during GE include:

  • Communication.
  • Team participation.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Logical thinking.
  • Listening ability.
  • Leadership.
  • Clarity of ideas.
  • Ability to work with a group.

SNAP Personal Interaction 2026

Personal Interaction is an important part of the SNAP admission process and carries 40 marks in the final merit list. Candidates should prepare for questions related to academics, MBA goals, work experience, current affairs, career plans, and their preferred specialisation.

Candidates can prepare for PI by reviewing:

  • Academic background.
  • Graduation subjects.
  • Why MBA?
  • Why the selected Symbiosis institute?
  • Career goals.
  • Work experience.
  • Internships and projects.
  • Current business developments.
  • Personal strengths and weaknesses.
  • Questions related to the selected MBA specialisation.

Is WAT included in SNAP counselling 2026?

The official SNAP 2026 selection process lists Group Exercise and Personal Interaction as the further admission components. Written Ability Test is not included as a separate component in the current final merit weightage.

Candidates referring to older SNAP counselling information may still find GE-PI-WAT mentioned because earlier admission cycles and some outdated exam resources use that structure. For SNAP 2026, candidates should follow the current institute instructions and official GE-PI schedule.

SNAP selection process 2026 weightage

Final admission does not depend only on the SNAP percentile. The entrance-test score is scaled to 50 marks, while the remaining 50 marks are based on GE and PI. The official final merit weightage is provided below.

Selection component Weightage

SNAP merit list 2026

Each participating institute releases its merit list after completing the GE-PI process. The list is prepared according to the candidate's cumulative performance in SNAP, Group Exercise and Personal Interaction.

Category-wise merit-list and wait-list cutoffs are displayed by the respective institutes. Candidates included in the first merit list need to complete the admission requirements before the applicable deadline.

SNAP seat allotment 2026

SNAP does not use a centralized seat-allotment system similar to many government entrance counselling processes. Seats are offered by individual Symbiosis institutes according to their final merit lists, programme capacity, category requirements, and seat availability. The basic admission sequence is:

  • SNAP percentile-based shortlisting.
  • GE-PI.
  • Final merit calculation.
  • Merit-list publication.
  • Admission offer.
  • Fee payment.
  • Wait-list movement for remaining vacancies.

SNAP counselling fees 2026

There is no single centralized SNAP counselling fee announced for the post-result admission process. Candidates are required to register separately for each MBA programme during the application stage.
