The Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF) has expanded its Scholarship Program for the 2026–27 academic year, selecting 11 students across a wider range of professional and technology-focused courses. For the first time, the programme includes students pursuing Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and other technology-led disciplines.
The YCF Scholarship Program provides financial assistance of up to ₹5 lakh per student towards course fees. The initiative primarily supports children of registered Hindi film industry workers and members of film unions and federations in pursuing higher education.
This year, the 11 scholars were selected through a merit- and need-based screening process from more than 300 registered applicants. The selected students are pursuing courses in areas including Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, Information Technology, Management, Commerce and Mass Communication.
Previously focused largely on media, film and creative disciplines, the scholarship has now been expanded to cover a wider range of professional programmes such as Engineering and Technology, Medical and Allied Health Sciences, Management, IT and Law. The Foundation said the expansion reflects the changing educational aspirations of film industry families and the increasing role of technology across creative and professional sectors.
