The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela plans to provide financial assistance to nearly 2,000 students during the 2026-27 academic year. The number of scholarship beneficiaries at NIT Rourkela has increased steadily in recent years. In 2022-23, 857 students received financial assistance from 25 organisations. The number rose to 1,299 students with support from 32 organisations in 2023-24 and 1,571 students through 45 government and private agencies in 2024-25. During 2025-26, financial support reached 1,670 students through 62 scholarship providers.
NIT Rourkela is also working with corporate organisations to expand scholarship opportunities. Proposed collaborations include organisations such as Groww, Adani Group and Rupa Bajaj. Special scholarship schemes are available for SC, ST, OBC, Economically Weaker Section and female students. Depending on the scheme, support may cover tuition fees, hostel expenses, or other educational costs.
