Maharashtra has revised the MHT CET 2027 exam schedule, with both attempts now planned after the Class 12 board examinations. The Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Department has dropped the earlier plan to hold the first attempt in December 2026 after feedback from parents, counsellors, and educationists.
The two MHT CET 2027 attempts were initially planned for December 2026 and April 2027. Under the revised plan, both examinations will be conducted during the March-April 2027 or April-May 2027 period. The change is intended to let candidates complete their Class 12 board exams before appearing for the state entrance test.
Officials have indicated that a gap of around four weeks will be maintained between the two MHT CET 2027 attempts. Candidates appearing in both sessions will have their higher score considered for admission purposes.
MHT CET is conducted for admission to engineering and pharmacy programmes in Maharashtra. The two-attempt system gives candidates another opportunity to improve their performance. The detailed provisional examination schedule is expected to be announced separately by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.
