The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has announced a revised Class 12 result for 2025, correcting an evaluation error in the English paper. The overall pass percentage has increased from 83.16% to 88.64%, with 76,315 students now declared as passed.
The revision follows the discovery of a “human error” where incorrect answer keys were used during the evaluation of the English exam. This mistake came to light after numerous students reported unexpectedly low scores in English. An inquiry revealed that answer keys from a cancelled paper were mistakenly applied during the evaluation process.
In response, HPBOSE re-evaluated the English answer sheets using the correct answer keys. The board has assured that in the revised results, students’ marks will only be increased if applicable; no marks will be deducted.
