The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in partnership with Meta, launches an AI-powered assistant called Skill India Digital Assistant. This tool aims to improve access to skill-based learning for millions of Indians through WhatsApp.
The AI assistant is developed using Meta’s open-source Llama models and is implemented by Sarvam AI. It supports English, Hindi, and Hinglish, with more Indian languages expected soon. Users can interact with the bot via text or voice messages to explore skilling courses, find training centers, and get job recommendations.
The assistant is accessible to anyone on WhatsApp at +91-844-868-4032. MSDE states that this initiative brings personalized skilling guidance directly to people’s smartphones, especially benefiting rural and underserved communities.
