CBSE Class 10 passing marks 2027 remain unchanged for the 2026–27 academic session, the Central Board of Secondary Education has clarified. Students appearing for the CBSE Class 10 board exams 2027 need to secure at least 33% marks in each subject to qualify.

For Class 10, the 33% passing requirement is calculated on the combined total of the board examination and internal assessment marks. Students are not required to secure 33% separately in the external examination and internal assessment components.

The clarification follows confusion over the interpretation of the passing criteria. CBSE has confirmed that the existing Class 10 assessment pattern continues for the 2026–27 academic session. Most Class 10 subjects follow an 80-mark board examination and 20-mark internal assessment structure.

Students should also note that the passing requirement for Class 12 differs for subjects involving practical examinations. Class 12 candidates are required to meet the prescribed minimum marks separately in theory and practical components, where applicable.

CBSE has also released sample question papers and marking schemes for Classes 10 and 12 for the 2026–27 academic session. Students can use these official resources to understand the examination pattern and marking approach.

Key highlights:
