IIT Madras has closed the GATE 2027 regular registration window after the extended application deadline ended on October 5, 2026. Candidates who completed the application process can next use the GATE 2027 application correction facility, which is scheduled to open on October 14, 2026, and remain available until October 21, 2026.
Registered candidates can use the correction window to make permitted changes to their submitted GATE 2027 application. IIT Madras manages the application process through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). The application process requires candidates to enter personal, identification, and academic details; select test papers and exam cities; upload required documents; and pay the applicable fee.
For GATE 2027, DigiLocker-based registration is mandatory for Indian nationals. Candidates are also advised not to delete the DigiLocker account used for the application because future communication is linked to that account.
GATE 2027 introduces Robotics and Automation as a new test paper. IIT Madras has also revised parts of the syllabus and updated sectional paper codes for XE, XH and XL.
