The University of Western Australia (UWA) expands its global presence by announcing new campuses in Mumbai and Chennai, which are set to become operational by August 2026. This move aims to provide Indian students with world-class education closer to home while strengthening academic and cultural collaboration between Australia and India.
The campuses will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, business, data science, and environmental studies. UWA plans to bring its renowned faculty and advanced research facilities to India, ensuring the same quality of education as its Perth campus.
According to UWA officials, the initiative aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and opens new opportunities for student exchange and global internships. The construction work begins in early 2025, with student admissions likely to start in early 2026.
